Christian Lacroix is one of the top fashion designers who moves away from the trends of the moment and he is always faithful to his own style. His unlimited creative mind is focused now on decorating Gola sport footwear with complicated and intricate drawings, which are characterized by a retro-style.

Surely this collaboration is great for people who like the design and the most innovative trends, but they will have to wait a little longer before they can buy these shoes, because the collection will be available in 2009.

At the moment, we show you two designs that have been published, so you can visualize the collection. They are unisex items with embroidered leather and patterns inspired by the Spanish bullfighting costumes.

Although the long vests were seen especially in Yves Saint Laurent’ collections for spring-summer 2008, they are present in most collections this autumn/winter. There are two versions: the vest that looks like a sleeveless jacket  and the leather or fur vest in a more hippie style.

The first group includes Derek Lam’s vests which are black with a leather neck, Diane Von Furstenberg’s vests that feature warm colors, Etro’s vests,  pink Marni’s vests, Phillip Lim’s vests and Calvin Klein’s vests which are minimalist.

In a more hippie and folk style we can include fur vests of Dolce & Gabanna and, in a more elegant version, leather vests like those shown in Derek Lam and Celine collections. Stores like Zara and Stradivarius have launched some versions of the Dolce&Gabanna vests, so we can get one if we want to have the perfect folk wardrobe this autumn.

Certainly it is not the most appropriate option for the most intense cold, but they are really nice and elegant, especially when they are worn with belts.

The iPod boom (including accessories) arrives everywhere and children are a good target for selling things that are related to it. In London, the company Marks & Spencer has put some school uniforms for sale that are specially designed for the Ipod. It seems that, in the interior part of the jacket, children will have a kind of pocket with a control panel to manage the player.

We have serious doubts that it is a recommended accessory for the back-to-school season, although it is clear that the more tech-savvy students will be asking for it. There are jackets, coats and complete uniforms and they are part of the 2008 Back to School collection. The panel has several pockets and lapels with player controls and it is made of polyester. It also has a protective layer made of recycled materials which are water-resistant. So, the students will be able to sing in the rain with no problems.

But don’t worry teachers! At this time, the uniforms are only in London, although to get them, people only need to browse the online Marks & Spencer store. But we won’t give more hints except that they are available in several sizes for children and teenagers from 10 to 17 years old and the price ranges from 11 to 37 euros.  

Another nightmare for teachers. If the students complement it with the Nokia Supernova, the result could be unpredictable.
