An exhibition as tribute to Saint LaurentThe first public exhibition of designer Yves Saint Laurent’s work, after his death on June 2008, was inaugurated at the deYoung Museum in San Francisco (USA) last weekend.

The exhibition includes 130 groups and represents 40 years of work: from the designer’s trapeze dresses for Dior to the famous tuxedos, jumpsuits and safari jackets that revolutionized women’s fashion and imposed the Saint Laurent’s label as a symbol of innovative couture.

“Hailed as the last of an era, Saint Laurent was the bridge between the golden age of haute couture and the new modernity”, according to the show organizers.

Among Saint Laurent’s admirers are people like actress Catherine Deneuve, Princess Grace of Monaco and Bianca Jagger, who wore a white tuxedo at her wedding with singer Mick Jagger.
