For many years, handbags and purses have been an essential accessory for women. Actually, some anthropologists say that, in ancient times, women were in charge of gathering activities; this way, while men were hunting by using spears, bows, and arrows, women went back and forth with bags full of things. So, apparently, this is an ancestral custom, although nowadays women utilize bags to carry notebooks, make-up, mobile phones, and a lot of other things, instead of just carrying basic provisions (like food).
Each season, the major brands of handbags and purses introduce their collections, and Loewe has already introduced its Spring-Summer 2010 collection; the presentation took place during Paris Fashion Week last week.
The Loewe Spring-Summer 2010 clothing collection was designed by the young designer Stuart Vevers (he is now 35 years old). During the fashion show, many people were focused not only on the clothes, but also on the handbags that each model was carrying. Actually, for some people, handbags were the most remarkable elements of this collection.
Loewe has also exhibited its collection in another city besides Paris. In fact, its Spring-Summer 2010 collection for men was presented during a fashion show in Madrid. The designer attended the event, as well as other important personalities such as Jaime de Marichalar, princess Elena’s ex-boyfriend, who was in the front row in order to see the relaxed and modern fashion show prepared by Loewe.
The Loewe collection for women is modern, sophisticated, and classic. On the other hand, the collection for men can be defined as elegant and sexy. There are some male bags that were made of excellent and very soft materials like leather, suede, and napped cloths; many of them are reversible bags (double-faced fabric), and there are some unlined bags for men, too.
