Autumn trends: Scarves and neckerchiefs
Monday, August 25th, 2008
It is obvious when the cold begins, it is necessary to cover most of our anatomy to be able to fight against the icy wind and winter days. For that reason, the scarves and neckerchiefs are a good choice and return each year. However, usually they compete with other accessories that keep us warm like high neck sweaters or mufflers.
Nevertheless, a large neckerchief (or a scarf) is something with a very European look that makes it an ideal accessory to carry out their function and, at the same time, stay up to date on fashion. Usually, the cold is not excessive during the autumn, so they don’t need to look like an ugly belt or a shawl. Instead, try to wear them as if they were necklaces with several knots around the neck.
Even so, the traditional way still works, of course, and scarves still are an elegant accessory. They can be worn by both men and women, and there are sizes and designs for everyone. Some stores like Zara offer very beautiful scarves with nice colors and a wonderful texture.
There are cashmere scarves or even scarves that are made of very thin materials that make them look good. Sometimes you should look for a solid color that stands out in your wardrobe.
Maybe you don’t have coats for every single winter day, but a scarf always will give an additional touch to your clothes without being extravagant.
