Well-known photographer Ellen Von Unwerth returned to Guess to be in charge of the development of the advertising campaign for the Fall 2010 collection of this brand.

Ellen is who had done a series of remarkable photos where some famous models appear, including some of the Guess campaigns in the 1980s and 1990s with the participation of Claudia Schiffer, Carre Otis, and Eva Herzigova.

The new photos were taken in Memphis (Tennessee), which is a renowned city because it’s the place where Elvis Presley (King of Rock and Roll) lived during his teen years. The artistic work evokes the style of the 1950s, a decade that was marked by the transformation of ordinary people into rock stars.

In the collection, the famed Guess jeans are complemented by shorts and knee-length styles. But the real main attraction and the most important part of this Fall 2010 collection is comprised by items with navy stripes, bustier-shaped tops, and classic denim jackets.

The Fall has not arrived yet but Zara is ready for that season. Currently, the famous brand of the Inditex group is starting to introduce its new Autumn – Winter collection that will be available at the Zara stores around the world very soon.

This year, the Zara stores apparently are getting back to the basics by proposing the absence of complexity as a sign of elegance. This concept was used to produce a set of clothing pieces targeted to those women who want to feel comfortable and stylish in their clothes.

The collection includes knitted sweaters that can be easily combined with any kind of jean. Also, blazers and jackets with two vertical rows of buttons and wide sleeves that have been designed to hang properly but without obstructing the movements of your hands.

Burberry Brit, the clothing line of Thomas Burberry, is young and casual. And, as usual, the Fall Winter 2010-2011 season will bring the typical style of this line: The British style.

English designer Stella McCartney has launched her collection for the Fall Winter 2010/2011 season.

In this collection, McCartney introduced very feminine clothing pieces with practical and uncomplicated designs. For example: Tops with a basic style, almost without any ornaments or any additional details. Also, some subtle see-through garments are complemented with some dainty flower prints that become visible, although they are under the garments.

The English fashion designer has also included very short skirts that allow to show off the legs. In some of her designs, asymmetric styles are revealing one of the shoulders, and, as for dresses, the same asymmetry is present in the form of trains (or tails) which seem to be floating in the air when the model is walking. Much of that is due to the light fabrics that were used.

Main colors of this collection include beige, grey, black, and white. Also, there are some few items in other interesting colors such as orange and fuchsia, which are perfect for those women who love the more explosive tonalities.

Early this year, the singer Beyoncé announced she was going to take a break during some months in order to have some relaxation time and repose. Anyway, during these months, she has not been totally separated from the work and the media because she surprised us with the video-clip of the “Telephone” song where she appeared together with Lady Gaga; besides, Beyonce has made other public appearances.

Therefore, the singer, who is considered as the most successful female singer of the last year, reappears in some promotional photos that were shot by photographer Tony Duran. In those photos, Beyoncé shows her wilder side with a body full of tattoos while she is promoting her clothing designs.

The photos reveal a rocker and wild look with a close-fitting style that includes leather and studs accompanied by tattoos of chains, spider’s webs, and even a printed spinal column on her skin. In this way, Beyonce’s body seems stuffed with tattoos, excepting some few parts. Evidently, those tattoos are not permanent; nowadays, temporary tattoos are in fashion, so using them in order to promote a fashion clothing line looks like a great idea.

The French fashion house, lead by Christophe Decarnin, introduced its masculine collection for the upcoming Fall-Winter season (2010/2011).

This collection comes with basic designs and very few ornamental elements. At first sight, it looks like a very commercial collection where, apparently, the fashion house is not risking too much; instead, it is a very safe bet with well-tried styles. Anyway, it’s good to remember that the men’s collections by Balmain are relatively new (the first one was launched in 2009), so it’s possible that we could see more sophisticated collections in the future with features that could set trends in the masculine clothing industry, as has happened in many cases with the Balmain collections for women.

The rampant military trend becomes evident in some aviator jackets, multi-pocket parkas, and chino pants. High boots and retro-inspired leather bags complete the set of items that are enhanced just with details such as zippers or lamb collars (for jackets).

The knitwear also plays a very important role in this collection. It is combined with biker-style pieces such as reinforced pants with lateral details, or some boot-like shoes with round toe caps. The college style is remarkable, especially in sweaters adorned with emblems or baseball jackets that can be worn with pants (which have a quite slim design)  or with vintage-inspired ripped worn-out jeans.

Pictures with natural illumination, relaxed poses, and very neat hairstyles are aesthetic features of the advertising campaign for this collection, which uses an austere set of colors. The dark colors (such as the omnipresent black, the traditional grey shades of the winter, and some earth colors) are highlighted by using white clothing pieces.
