As is usually the case, the beautiful model and designer Kate Moss is the protagonist of her own collections for the British chain of clothing stores TopShop. This top model has already designed 9 collections for this brand, since year 2007.
The spring-summer 2009 collection was first presented at the beginning of February. In its preview, we saw the return of black this season (as main color), as well as fringes and mini dresses.
The current campaign shows the professionalism of two well-known and important fashion photographers: Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott (Mert & Marcus). They have collaborated with other fashion companies such as Emporio Armani, Miu Miu and Just Cavalli. In this opportunity, this duo of photographers provided some photos with a classical style where Kate Moss (with very red lips) is the central figure. She looks like a porcelain doll.
Maybe there is not much innovation in the photos, especially as for aesthetic resources, but Topshop only want to sell its collection by using images of the beautiful British model as ads. TopShop doesn’t need to imitate other fashion brands like Prada or Giorgio Armani.
