A Brazilian company (Lindelucy) launched a lingerie line with the Global Positioning System (GPS) included… yes, the same technology that is used to locate stolen cars. This will allow the (jealous?) men know the exact place where their couple is every moment of the day, of course, provided women agree. The corsets will be advertised under the motto “Find me if you can.”
“The idea is not that a woman can be tracked by her couple to control her. Instead of that, she can offers him a new game, a kind of erotic fetish”, designer of the new line Lucía Iorio explained. The new “sexual toy” will be controlled by the woman wearing it, not by her couple, and for that reason, “if she doesn’t want to be controlled, the only thing she needs to do is to disconnect the device”, Iorio said.
The product is thought “to satisfy the modern woman’s necessities, mixing fashion and technology”. Lucía Iorio emphasized that the system is not “macho” because it allows woman to be free by controlling if her couple can know her coordinates or not. The price is high; each piece is available online for 573 Euros.
According to Iorio the corsets, panties and bodies are manufactured on demand, only. Is this a postmodern chastity belt for woman? Maybe it is not easy to establish a fairly logical comparison between women’s stereotypes and a device coupled to the intimate clothing controlled by a jealous boyfriend who wants to know where his girlfriend is every second of every day.
