More and more people are investing in the arts and antiques. For this reason, there is an increase in lot prices during the first quarter of the year, according to a report published this week.
The financial market volatility is encouraging the consumers to look for alternative investment opportunities among them, the arts and antiques, according to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ (RICS) first art and antiques survey.
The biggest demand was registered in lots with prices over 5,000 pounds (about 10,000 dollars), which indicates that many citizens see the art and antiques as long term investments.
In the current climate of uncertainty, many people are abandoning the financial sector to invest in tangible assets.
