Although nude colors were an important trend on red carpets at the beginning of the spring-summer 2009 season in the North Hemisphere, the combination of gaudy colors is the new trend for warm days.
Even if you live in the South Hemisphere, where the trend will be starting in a couple of months, it is important to know how to combine vivid colors. Some well-known fashion experts have pointed out, through specialized media (such as fashion magazines), that the best way is getting one-color clothes and combining two different garments in order to create a look with two chromatic parts.
Colors such as purple, fuchsia, and blue will be the main colors of this trend. At least one of them should be present in almost all combinations for the coming summer. Usually, those colors look attractive and are very suitable for the hot season.

A clear example of this fashion trend is the cruise collection (2009) designed by American designer Marc Jacobs who combined fuchsia or purple skirts with electric blue tops.

British fashion designer Stellar McCartney proposed something similar in her Pre-Fall 2009 Collection. Although it is not a collection for summer, she is suggesting livid colors could be good for the cold days at the end of this year, too. This Pre-Fall Collection include some looks that use skirts and tops in vivid colors combined with black pantyhose for the first months of the fall/winter season.
