This Tuesday, the e-commerce company Amazon.com Inc. informed that the new version of its electronic book reading device Kindle 2 had been launched one day earlier than scheduled.
The first version of this electronic book (e-book) reader, which also allows users to read digital versions of several American newspapers and the French newspaper Le Monde, was created by Amazon and launched commercially in the USA in November 2007.
The wireless device has a screen that can display 16 shades of gray. Users can get the electronic books (e-books) through Internet. Typically, each e-book is sold for about 10 dollars. At the present time, Amazon offers more than 100,000 e-books to choose from.
The Seattle-based online retailer said it began to send the $359 device to its warehouses on Monday in order to make sure that customers could get it by Tuesday, which was the date that Amazon gave when it announced the new version of the device on February 9.
