While there are plenty of mobile GPS units for cars and even hand-held units for hikers, Garmin has yet to cash in on an untapped market, cyclists—until now.  Not content with providing users the Garmin Phone or letting them use official apps on their other smart devices, Garmin has created an entire device with the purpose of giving bike riders the global location services they need in a package they can actually handle. If you’re looking for a decent PC (and a tiny one at that) that will deliver the performance you need and not put a strain on your wallet, Zotac’s new Zboxes are probably worth your time to investigate.  First off, they’re tiny—not much bigger than a book.  Secondly, they come equipped with some decent hardware for such a small machine. Though I’m not quite convinced that 3D is the wave of the future that everybody seems to think it is, even I have to admit that some of the gadgetry these companies are pumping out to milk the 3D cow is pretty impressive.  One example is the FujiFilm Finepix 3D W3.  The new model is based off FujiFilm’s previous attempt at creating a pocket-sized portable 3D camera capable of taking snapshots whenever you wanted it to.  That previous attempt was a little less than perfect but FujiFilm seems to have listened to the critiques and come back with a much better product the second time around. If you’re one of those folks that think headphones are headphones and once you’ve tried one, you’ve tried them all, this new headset from Sony will definitely put you in a different state of mind.  The DR-GA500 Headset is a set of 3D surround sound headphones strapped to a high-fidelity microphone.  However, unlike those other posers that purport to be true 3D, Sony’s is the real deal.  It even comes with an audio conversion box that makes your PC output 7.1 surround! VOIP sure seems like the way of the future (especially when you compare the prices to other standard landline operators.)  However, even cheap alternatives to the big name companies like Skype have some cost associated with them.  Sure, you can make free Skype to Skype calls but if you want to call someone who still has one of those crusty old landlines, you have to pay a fee (assessed in Skype Credits so it doesn’t sound like real money—but it’s still money.)
