Cars, homes and clothes will have a microscopic chip that will connect them, according to a report published by The European Commission in the last days.
The report was targeted to the EU members states and talk about the necessity of leading the developments and innovations of the next generation of the Internet.
This next generation is well-known as Internet 3.0, and it makes reference to independent networks that will connect practically all human activities, by using multiples devices and processes, not only traditional desktop computers or laptops. Communications, transport, shopping, entertainment, education, and other activities will be carried out mainly on Internet.
According to the Commissioner for Information Society and Media Viviane Reding: “The Internet of the future will radically change our society”. It will be the “Internet of Things’, where devices, gadgets and vehicles will exchange information. “Europe has the know-how and the network capacity to lead this transformation. We must make sure that Web 3.0 is made and used in Europe”, she said.
