Nintendo has sold more than seven millions units of its interactive videoconsole Wii in Japan, according to the specialized magazine Enterbrain. The video console was launched to the market in December 2006.
Nintendo announced today that it obtained a net profit of 144,828 million yens between April and September (1,521 million dollars), which is 9.3 percent increase over last year.
On Thursday, the Japanese company confirmed that according to the last figures available, which were collected in September, it had been sold 6.91 millions Wii units in Japan.
In Japan, Wii is more popular than other competitors like Sony’s PlayStation 3 or Microsoft’s Xbox.
