This year, bidimensional functions looked old-fashioned at the the major technology-related trade show in Las Vegas, USA. Many exhibitors at the Consumer Electronics Show wanted to introduce its new 3D gadgets or devices. Definitely, the 3D experience was present everywhere at CES this year.
Home Cinema systems, video cameras connected to a computer, webcams, live television and even screens as small as the iPhone: nothing is exempt from the third dimension in 2009.
“There’s three or more times more 3-D than last year”, according to Richard Doherty, an analyst with Envisioneering Group.
But, does it matter to consumers? We are not sure. Example: 3D movies have existed since the 1950s, and from time to time some companies introduce new devices and functions in order to catch the attention of the people in a better way. However, the 3D movies industry is still relatively small.
In the picture, you can see a webcam that transmits 3D-like video across the Internet. It is called Minoru.
