IFA electronics trade show open in Berlin (Deutsche Welle):
In Berlin, the 2008 consumer electronics trade show IFA has opened to the general public. German Chancellor Angela Merkel was there to inaugurate the 48th edition of the world's largest trade show of its kind, which for the first time includes home appliances.

Futuristic fridges invade Berlin consumer electronics show (TODAYonline):
A "decomposed" washing machine at the stand of German household appliances giant Miele at the IFA (Internationale Funkaustellung) Consumer Electronics Trade Fair, at Berlin's fair ground August 27.
