Apple says decoding programs can damage iPhone
Apple Inc, the computers maker, said on Monday that the available programs in internet that allow that the iPhone be used with other suppliers of telephony services, besides AT&T, can damage the device in an irreparable way.
Apple that also manufactures the Mac computers, the iPod digital player and operates the iTunes online store, said that once the Apple’s software for the iPhone is changed, it “will likely result in the modified iPhone becoming permanently inoperable” .
Since the iPhone presentation on June, Apple has said the company hopes to sell 1 million units at the end of this month. Apple said that in the first two days the company sold 270.000 devices.
“We are not doing anything proactively to disable iPhones that have been hacked or unlocked”, Phil Schiller, Apple’s head of worldwide product marking said.
